The Salvation Army Homeless Shelter

Abstract
The Salvation Army Homeless Shelter is a temporary shelter for men, women and families. The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in his name without discrimination. The shelter can only hold fifteen people. If there is a family of six then the shelter can only have nine more residents. The families are woken up at 5am they have to eat and be gone from the shelter by 7am. The resident can return by 7pm for the night. The shelter feeding hours are from 11am to 12pm. Dinner was served from 5pm to 5:30 pm. Once they eat on the way out the shelter the kitchen gave out bread and fruits.

The Homeless Shelter
The event that I attended was the Salvation Army Shelter it is located on 245 Alexander Street. The mission statement for the Salvation Army is “The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in his name without discrimination.” The Salvation Army Shelter is a temporary shelter for men, women and families. The shelter divided into two different parts. It is separate between the temporary living shelter and the kitchen. The supervisor that shows me around the kitchen name was Tesha. Tesha gave me a brief over view on the shelter. The shelter can only hold up to fifteen residents. Tesha could not take me to the part of the shelter were the resident were staying.
